What is a Slot?
A slot is a container for dynamic content that can be active or passive. It can be a placeholder for something that waits for the action to come to it (a passive slot), or it can trigger an event when it’s called upon to provide content (an active slot). A slot is part of a scenario and works alongside a renderer to create a page.

Casino A slot machine, or a video poker machine, is a gambling device with a reel and a button to spin it. You can map an entity value to a slot using a regular expression. This allows the bot to recognize synonyms for a slot and use them when identifying that slot in an utterance. To do this, select the “Allow Synonyms” checkbox next to an entity value in the slot list. This will let the bot know that when it hears the word NYC, it should be mapped to New York. You can then add any synonyms you want to the slot list.
